All of the complaints were filed with the Ohio Attorney General’s office. It was definitely an effort to just embarrass the board and run them off (see complaint testimony). It failed and operations continued. About a year or so into the investigation, the AG’s office seemed to be closing the case. Jason and the board brought back some very well-respected prior board members and a few good new members. Jason resigned in December 2015 knowing things would be in good hands with people that cared about the mission and not just their own personal missions. Jason lived in Lakewood, Ohio when he was arrested, over five years after the investigation began. Everyone was in shock until testimony by the Attorney General’s Investigator that said he knew that this was a political case. Perrysburg Township Administrator Walter Celley (also owner of D & W development and the holder of a mortgage/loan with Jason and Kristie) seemed to influence the AG into continuing the investigation. Mr. Celley and D&W development became an important twist in the trial that went ignored by Wood County and Craig’s trial attorney. Jason was charged with the theft of $238,000. He was charged with the theft of the money paid out from the eBay sales, and he was charged with stealing the commissions that the sellers earned (the prosecutors told the jury that the money was intended to be donated even though they never spoke to the sellers and the sellers filed affidavits stating they never agreed to donate their income).
When these charges came to light, Steve Kramer, a trustee of the PHCA came forward with a letter urging the prosecution that they had it all wrong and that the PHCA had no money missing. He also stated that the PHCA had never had the amount of money in question to have been stolen in the first place. Here is the letter he wrote to the prosecution.
In an appeal, the judge denied that the sellers were able to control their own money. He stated that the Visalus promotion was created for the sole benefit of the PHCA. Once again, everyone was shocked. None of these people were affiliated with the PHCA and certainly were not giving up their income. There was no agreement nor testimony of an agreement. This was a story made up by the prosecution. Also, remember that Jason and Kristie sold these products well before joining the board of the PHCA or opening an eBay account. This definitely proves that no matter what the evidence shows, the “political case” was getting deeper and deeper. The Wood County Prosecutor even charged Jason with stealing money that was, in reality, change for the annual festival that was redeposited on the following Monday. You will see through the evidence and testimony you are about to read that the Wood County Prosecution’s investigator never actually investigated anything. We will show you how three disgraced former board members perjured themselves (Anita, Anita, Anita, Stephanie, Elisa), and, for over four years, the Wood County Prosecutor’s office has fought to keep these records from Jason. While we stop short of making accusations against the judge or the Appeals court, we will show that even the system does not do its due diligence in looking at the records (see Latest Appeal Denied). They seem to read the prosecution’s replies and accept their statements. Politicians and lawyers are historically assumed to be some of the most distrusted and hated people. I wish that the evidence would prove that wrong. It won’t.
