More cash questions. Pg. 883 Smith “What would be the most you spent on pennies at one time?” Craig “Me personally or the community center?” Smith “Well, money that came out of — money from your personal.” Craig “Me personally? I would go to twenty banks per week. I would go to my PNC bank, I would go to Key Bank, Huntington Bank, Genoa Bank, Glass City Federal Credit Union, and just get boxes or whatever rolls, Directions Credit Union. yeah.” Smith “And I’m assuming.” Craig “I mean they would — legitimately I would try to get them to order hundreds and hundreds of dollars a week.” Smith “These were obviously cash transactions?” Craig “Oh, yeah.”
Smith “Speaking of another obscure fundraiser. Can you explain to us how the Purina Weight Circles worked?” Craig “That was a good one.” Smith “Okay.” Craig “I had been doing that for years. It started with Animal House Rescue and Petco. This is back when Kristie worked there. They have weight circles on the side of Purina food. It’s called weight circles. You cut it out. It was a cheaper thing, it was worth eight to ten points for every pound. So like a 50-pound bag would be a $4 weight circle. so when we were doing a lot of work raising money for the foundation, buying food for some of the rescue groups that we were helping, we would always take the weight circles off because then you could turn them I’m for discount coupons, vet bills, merchandise, gift cards. So that’s where it started. I though, him, there’s, you know, got to be people that collect these. So I went on eBay, noticed they’re just selling them like crazy. So a thousand points is worth ten bucks basically. No matter how, whether it’s Pro Plan or whatever, a different structure. A thousand points is ten bucks. So there would be people on there that would be selling, you know, $800, $1000, $2,000 worth of Purina points for half their value. So if you buy these points, if you’re able to buy these points, then ship them to Purina, then you wait about 30 days because at the time they were counting it. I guess, by hand, you would get whatever product you ordered in response. So, yeah, a lot of that. That was a lot.” Smith “Certainly successful? Was that successful for the Heights?” Craig “It was. Honestly personally — I was — it was very successful for us before it went to the Heights…”
